PyrAscend is based on responsible self-guided offroad motorcycle riding. This Code of Conduct explains the behaviour expected from riders who use PyrAscend route information, GPX files or preparation material.

 

By using the PyrAscend GPX route or route information, you agree to follow this Code of Conduct.

 

  1. Ride legally

 

Ride only on roads, trails and tracks that are legally accessible.

 

Always respect:

 

– local laws;

– road signs;

– barriers;

– closures;

– private property;

– protected areas;

– seasonal restrictions;

– fire-risk restrictions;

– official instructions.

 

If access is unclear, closed or restricted, do not continue.

 

  1. Respect the route and local environment

 

Stay on existing roads and trails. Do not create new lines, shortcuts or alternative tracks through fields, forests, riverbeds or open terrain.

 

Avoid unnecessary wheelspin, erosion and damage to the trail surface.

 

Take all waste with you and leave campsites, viewpoints and trail sections clean.

 

  1. Respect other trail users

 

Slow down and create space near:

 

– hikers;

– cyclists;

– horse riders;

– local traffic;

– farmers;

– animals;

– villages;

– campsites;

– residential areas.

 

Pass calmly and respectfully. Do not assume other people or animals understand how a motorcycle will behave.

 

  1. Control noise and speed

 

Ride at a controlled speed and avoid excessive noise.

 

Do not ride aggressively near people, animals, villages or quiet natural areas.

 

The goal is to complete the route responsibly, not to race it.

 

  1. Ride within your ability

 

Do not ride sections that are clearly beyond your skill level, physical condition or motorcycle setup.

 

If a section looks unsafe, too technical, closed or uncertain, turn around or choose an alternative route.

 

When in doubt, stop, inspect the trail on foot and make a safe decision.

 

  1. Prepare properly

 

Before riding, make sure you have:

 

– a suitable and road-legal motorcycle;

– valid licence and insurance;

– protective riding gear;

– appropriate tyres;

– offline navigation;

– enough fuel and water;

– basic tools and repair equipment;

– first aid supplies;

– weather-appropriate clothing;

– a way to communicate in case of emergency.

 

Riding remote mountain routes without preparation is irresponsible.

 

  1. Respect weather and terrain

 

Mountain conditions can change quickly. Rain, snow, mud, wind, heat, cold or low visibility can make a route much more difficult.

 

Adapt your speed, route choice and riding style to the actual conditions on the ground.

 

The GPX line is never more important than safety, legality or common sense.

 

  1. Ride responsibly in a group

 

If riding with others, keep the group manageable and respectful.

 

Do not pressure another rider into riding a section they are uncomfortable with.

 

Wait at junctions, check on each other regularly and make sure every rider is accounted for.

 

  1. Protect the reputation of responsible motorcycling

 

Your behaviour affects how local communities, authorities and landowners view offroad motorcyclists.

 

Ride in a way that keeps access possible for future riders.

 

Avoid behaviour that creates conflict, noise complaints, environmental damage or unnecessary attention from authorities.

 

  1. Accept personal responsibility

 

PyrAscend provides route information as guidance only. The final decision to ride, stop, continue, turn around or choose an alternative route is always yours.

 

You are responsible for your own actions, safety, motorcycle, equipment, legal compliance and route decisions.

 

If you cannot follow this Code of Conduct, do not use the PyrAscend GPX route.
