A free self-guided offroad route through the Pyrenees and Andorra, built around GPX navigation, mountain terrain and independent riding.

Self-Guided by Design

PyrAscend is made for riders who want to explore the Pyrenees without needing a fixed guide, group schedule or packaged tour. The route is offered for free, so adventure riders can use the preparation, research and field testing behind PyrAscend to plan their own offroad experience.

The concept is more than just a GPX file. PyrAscend combines a complete route, a supporting website, day-by-day route pages, practical riding information and clear offroad statistics. The route covers 703.3 km in total, including 301 km of offroad terrain, with an average offroad ratio of 43% and a highest daily offroad ratio of 65%. This gives riders a clear understanding of what they are downloading, riding and preparing for.

The route is created through a combination of satellite scouting, manual route building and selected existing TET GPX sections. New sections were planned with navigation software, terrain analysis and map research, while TET sections were refined with additional route points to create a clearer trail and reduce navigation confusion.

After planning, almost all route sections were ridden, tested and improved in the field. This helps confirm whether the tracks are accessible, rideable and suitable for adventure motorcycles. The result is a detailed, structured and free self-guided offroad route for the Pyrenees, with a level of preparation and explanation that is difficult to find in a standard downloadable GPX file.

Day 1

Coastal Start: Day 1 begins near the sea with accessible gravel, loose stones and steady elevation gain. The terrain gradually becomes more mountainous toward the final technical section.

Day 3

Pic Negre: Day 3 moves into more technical mountain terrain with sandy roads, steep climbs and remote trails. This stage includes some of the most demanding riding of the route.

Day 5

Grande Final: Day 5 closes the route with steep climbs, muddy trails, river crossings and fast mountain sections. The stage finishes with the descent toward Sort.

Day 2

Deeper into the Pyrenees: Day 2 moves further into the mountain region, combining pavement, forest trails, small villages and open gravel. The focus is mainly on covering distance and reaching more remote Pyrenees terrain.

Day 4

Ending in Organyà: Day 4 starts with faster gravel and scenic mountain sections before becoming rougher in the second half. Loose rocks, fallen branches and slower riding make the final part more technical.
