What to expect?
The first day begins directly from the same camping where travelers arrive after the journey. Once leaving the campsite, the trail immediately sets the tone for the days ahead.
The opening section follows accessible gravel and loose stone roads, with occasional puddles along the way. This part of the route serves as a smooth warm‑up, allowing riders to get accustomed to the terrain.
As the route progresses, elevation increases steadily, and the surroundings gradually shift toward a more mountainous character, offering the first hints of the Pyrenees atmosphere. In the open areas, it is common to encounter cows and goats on the trails, adding to the authentic rural feel of the region.
Near the French border, the track passes through vineyards, creating a striking contrast with the rocky terrain and offering a scenic interlude before the route becomes more demanding again.
The final offroad stretch of the day is one of the notable highlights of the entire trip. This section features: colourful wildflowers along the trail, rocky terrain requiring precise handling & one of the more technical segments of the route
After navigating this challenging part, the trail descends toward an old monastery, a peaceful and atmospheric point marking the end of the offroad riding. From there, it is only a short ride back to the same camping, where the day concludes and preparations for the next stage can begin.
